The dragon manages to escape out the upper hatch and begins heading to the Ten Towns. Making progress by eliminating enemies we think it’s only Xardorok left when more duergar appear. The others pull out their laser weapons from the mind flayer ship and begin blasting Xardorok and his pet. The spellcasters serve up some more fried quaggoth with two fireballs exploding inside the doorway.

Moving in, we see Xardorok the evil duergar leader and he orders his quaggoth and Chardalin Dragon to attack. We move to the eastern door that the myconid told us was the forge. Huxley and Daerris find creases in the creature’s natural armor plating and stab it to death. Imthir gets confused by its eyes and bolts out of the room. Doesn’t matter though because they run away and hide while the umber hulk is going berserk. The umber hulk has a hood on its head and before we can act, the duergar turn invisible and remove the hood from the umber hulk! It charges us but not before Ohli casts a Fairy Fire in the area the duergar were in exposing them with a glowing flame. At the end is another set of double doors that Daerris kicks open allowing him and the others to see some duergar and an umber hulk near the back of the room.

Undeterred, the party kicks open the doors to reveal a hallway full of murder holes we hesitantly move through. At that very moment, the gears that seemingly run the elevator end up grinding to a halt and then shift to a different mechanism before resuming their sound/motion. He gives information about the location of the Forge (to the east) and mentions the regular patrols. Moving over to help the myconid, it releases its rapport spores and communicates to us telepathically in thanks. They are pretty savage but the group rallies and takes them down too. The melee attackers shread the rest but the victory is short lived as more uncontaminated quaggoth rush into the room from another double door to the east. Imthir and Kahn roast most of the quaggoth, sterilizing some of the spores in the process. They rush over to attack being ordered by an alpha quaggoth who grows larger in size as he approaches. Warned by the now-friendly duergar about a rough time ahead, we push forward into the room to see a handful of quaggoth torturing a myconid in an attempt to capture its rapport spores in glass jars. As the party rests, Vellynne Harpell enters with her undead Kobolds. With one final spell, Ohli shatters the Chardalyn Dragon. When the being was dispatched, the dragon roared back into combat and engulfed me in his flames as the party continues to strike the creature. During the attack, Huxley was attacked and an invisible being, the party turned their attention against the invisible being. An hour or so passes when the party engages the dragon, while I was preoccupied with the zombified denizens. The party splits up to warn the citizens of the effects of the Chardalyn fragments. The town was already engaged when we arrived. The party exhausted but with renewed vigor from Kahn’s heals, the party heads back to Bryn Shander. After a few more strafes, the town was able to fight the dragon off and the citizens see the dragon fly towards Bryn Shander. The party engaged while I save the citizens of Targos with the help of Ohli. We arrived but before long, the dragon attacked and we sprang into action. Our plan is to stop or weaken the dragon before it reached Bryn Shander. I was able to procure five axe beaks that the party used to go to Targos.

Kahn attempted to summon Auril or at the very least, speak with her disciples hoping to find some way of using her to defend against the Dragon. When we arrived at Bryn Shander, the town was in chaos as the town was preparing for the oncoming dragon attack.

While trekking onwards, we find refugees from EastHaven, Caer-Dineval, and Caer-Konig, that informed us of how the dragon attacks and the time it took for the dragon to destroy each town. We don’t search for survival and continued onwards to Bryn Shandor. After a long rest, we rush towards Goodmead, same scenario, but it seems the Dragon left the Mead Hall untouched. While eager, the party was exhausted and had to make camp. As we enter, our beliefs were confirmed, the entire town has been decimated except for the stone markings at the edge of town, although it seems people survived and escaped to Good Mead. Without hesitation, the party rushed to Dougan’s Hole with no belief that the town stood. The party was escorted out of SunBlight via a secret tunnel by the Duergar.
